Job Title: DB Specialist Java Developer
Location: Brno, Czech Republic

SnapShot is a Berlin-based hotel data company. Our flagship product, SnapShot Analytics, is a new kind of analytics made specifically for the hospitality industry, aggregating hotel data from various sources and displaying it all on one beautifully-designed, easy to use dashboard. We’re growing at an exciting pace and are looking for motivated and skilled people to join our team.

For our growing development center in Brno we are looking for an experienced DB Specialist / Java Developer.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Improve and extend existing DWH schemas, design new structures
Optimize queries for fast read performance, data analytics
Cooperate with Infrastructure specialists to optimize and scale DWH environment
Develop enterprise messaging and integration infrastructure for a multi-datacenter global big data product
Perform technical grooming tasks for product features
Develop and unit test service components to accomplish the business and technical objectives
Develop Proof of concept and reference implementations
Cooperate in design sessions
Develop solid, scalable solutions that can scale to hundreds of thousands of requests per second

OUR REQUIREMENTS

3 years of day-to-day experience with relational databases (MySQL, Oracle DB, MSSQL)
1 year of experience managing relational DB (on daily basis)
2 years of java development experience
Ability to write ETL scripts
Knowledge of data replication patterns in clustered environments
Experience using automated integration and unit testing, such as JUnit
Willingness to work towards fully automated testing environment
Able to use English daily but mainly in written form, level min. B1/B2 is necessary
EU working permission

NICE TO HAVE

Previous experience with Maria DB Galera Cluster
Basic knowledge of Linux environment
Knowledge of NoSQL databases
Spring 4 or similar annotation-driven environment, JEE
Basic knowledge of REST/JSON API principles
